Changing Course
The Maschile Plurale Lucca Association has accepted the proposal launched by Alfonso Molina against femicide [see: HuffPost, Oct. 12] and informed all the institutions and associations participating in the table on gender policy.
On Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 5:00 pm, the organiser will be in Piazza S. Francesco with a table representing various associations to explain the initiative to citizens with Councillor Ilaria Vietina, who will then move to Via dei Fossi, by the Madonna dello Stellario, to:
Read and then burn (in a small brazier) leaflets with phrases and/or invectives against women, such as “Be quiet!”, “You don’t understand anything!”, “Just stick to what you know how to do!”, “Who gave you these ideas?” …
Free small reed boats down the rivers (with a candle lit if possible) to remember every murdered woman. The boats should be retrieved at filter placed on Via della Rosa.
There will also be a flash mob against femicide in Rome with hundreds of biodegradable boats floated down the Tiber on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
In Rome, the appointment is on Sunday, November 21 at 12:00 (noon) by the William Kentridge mural between Ponte Sisto and Ponte Mazzini.
