A Visit to Parque Carèn
Last week, FMD Scientific Director Alfonso Molina, Personal Chair in Technology Strategy (Prof. Molina taught at the University of Edinburgh for over 20 years), participated in the visit of the European Union’s Cooperation Delegation to Chile.
On the website of the University of Chile, the news (Delegación de la Unión Europea se reúne con el Rector Ennio Vivaldi y visita Parque Carén) documents the visit of Delegation Head Ewout Sandker to Chile. Mr. Sandker was welcomed by Rector Ennio Vivaldi. Besides the university, the delegation also visited the Parque Carén, the lagoon and its environs, and the Technological Centre for Food Innovation (CeTA).
The delegation viewed the area in the Parque Carén where a Vaccine Production Centre will be opened thanks to funding from the European Union. The initiative, promoted by the University of Chile, will allow the country to recover its vaccine production potential. On December 2, in fact, the European Union declared that it would promote the production and distribution of vaccines in Latin America.
