Welcome, I am the Scientific Director of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale In Italy, a non-profit organization I created in 2001. I have a personal Chair in Technology Strategy and, until recently, I was professor at the Business School of the University of Edinburgh.
I have developed original theories on innovation (Sociotechnical Constituency and Alignment), which I have used over the years for concrete strategies and interventions, such as the creation of a Multi-sectoral Network for educational robotics in Italy, the first “phyrtual” environment for social innovation Phyrtual.org and the Phyrtual Innovation Gym. I intend to continue developing tools and theories on innovation and development of the human being and society, to apply them in concrete contexts and aiming at improving the world we live in, starting from the youth and from schools. I believe we do need a new educational model that combines codified knowledge, life skills and core values, with three learning approaches: lifelong learning (throughout the whole life), lifewide learning (in all contexts) and lifedeep learning (at deep and transformative level).
